Block 5 Cabernet Sauvignon

The ideal, mild weather resulted in fragrant Cabernet Sauvignon crops. The fruit was lusciously ripe but produces wine at moderate alcohol levels. Yields were down 40%, but the red wines are rich and varietal, with dense colours and a structure suggesting they will be very ageworthy.

Phil was born in Adelaide in 1960 and is known as the God Father of Garage, largely due to his purpose built small batch winery in McLaren Vale. Phil primarily works with quality producers to create bespoke fine wines. Phil’s philosophy in winemaking is a non interventionalist approach with the wine predominately made in the vineyard, his job being to nurture it from vine to bottle.
